On Tuesday, September 6th, the Clarion-Limestone Boys Soccer Team traveled to Keystone and came out with a 14-0 win.

The Panthers had some injured players and were down to a 9 player team, so C-L Coach Don
Montgomery played down to 9 players as well, in a showing of great sportsmanship.
Several C-L boys were able to find the net: Bailee Verdill scored 5 goals, Brendan Bettwy had 2, Brady
Pierce had 2, with one each was: Reece Geiger, Thomas Uckert, Dany Schweitzer, Jason Megnin and
Layton Dunn.

On Thursday, September 8th, the Lions hosted Redbank Valley on an incredibly rainy evening.

The Lions had their first loss of the season. Redbank scored the first two goals of the game and then scored on a penalty kick because of an incidental hand ball in the box. The Lion player received a red card for the incidental penalty, so they played the remainder of the game a man down and the official gave
Redbank the penalty kick and the original goal. The first Lion to score was Thomas Uckert, with the assist from Bailee Verdill.

Redbank scored again.

Verdill found Uckert for a second hook-up for C-L. Verdill scored next for the Lions. Redbank scored with just seconds left in the muddy first half. Redbank continued their long ball style of play with a final score Redbank Valley 8 – Clarion-Limestone 3CL 3 Redbank 8.

C-L traveled to DuBois Central Catholic on Tuesday, September 13th.

The Lions’ Bailee Verdill scored two goals pretty quickly. He then had the assist on a Dany Schweitzer goal.

After halftime, Verdill added 3 more goals to his tally for the day. Brendan Bettwy had two goals
in the second half, Dany Schweitzer and Brady Pierce each scored in the second half, making the final
score C-L 10 – DCC 0. Lions’ goalie Tyler Bingham had another great shutout for the Lions!
