McKayla Kerle Claims Title At Coudersport Tournament, Emily Troese Also Competes

Clarion Area Golfers McKayla Kerle and Emily Troese competed Coudersport Girls Invitational on Thursday, September 8th, at Coudersport Golf Club, with McKayla earning top honors.

McKayla shot an 87, finishing eight strokes ahead of second place winner Rylee Thompson from Oswayo Valley, who carded a 95. Third place went to Caydence Styles from Bradford, who finished with a 97. Coudersport’s Leah Larsen and Olivia Schott tied for fourth place with each shooting a 98.

Emily shot a 112.

There were eleven schools involved, represented by thirty-four golfers. The top three golfers from each team were counted for the team race. In addition to Clarion A-C Valley/Union, Kane and Smethport didn’t field a full team of three, so golfers from those teams only competed for individual places.

Bradford was the Team Champion with a 305 total. Moniteau was second at 319 and Oswayo Valley was third at 355. They were followed by Clearfield and Coudersport who tied for fourth at 371 and Cranberry who finished with a 372.

In addition to McKayla and Emily, a number of area girls competed.

A-C Valley/Union’s Evie Bliss finished with a 122. Moniteau had five golfers.

Mariska Shunk carded a 105, Emma Couert and Kendall Sankey each finished with a 107, Autumn Stewart had a 110 and Tayler Volch finished with a 125.

Cranberry had three golfers. Brook Whitling had a 110, Alaina Hogue and Madison Miller each finished with 131.
