Lions Boys Soccer Team Claims District Nine Class-A Opener 3-1 Over Brookville

The Clarion-Limestone Lions opened the District Nine Class-A Soccer playoffs with a victory over the visiting Brookville Raiders, on Tuesday (October 25th).

CSZ Boys Soccer Correspondent Mindi Verdill shares this wrap-up:

The C-L Lions were the first to score Tuesday night in the first round of playoffs. Wyatt Boyden had the first and only goal of the first half. Both teams played with some great intensity.

Brookville had the first goal of the second half and it would be their only goal of the game. Goalie Tyler Bingham had a stellar performance along with the Lions defense!

#11 Brendan Bettwy had a goal for the Lions

Brendan Bettwy had the next goal of the game to give the Lions a 2-1 lead. Senior Bailee Verdill had the final goal of the game to seal the game up for the Lions.

Final score: C-L 3 – Brookville 1

The Lions will host Elk Country Catholic, in the semifinals, on Thursday, October 27 with a 6:00 start time.
