The bracket host school University of Mary Washington Eagles, from Fredricksburg, Virginia defeated the Eastern University (Wayne, PA), also the Eagles in straight sets (25-22, 25-17, 25-18) on Friday (November 11th) at the Ron Rosner Arena, in the William M. Anderson Center.

The Eagles will now face the Johns Hopkins (Baltimore) Blue Jays in a Sweet 16 match, tomorrow (Saturday, November 12th) with the match set to begin at 5:00 P.M. The match can be viewed on livestream for free. A link is at the bottom of the article.

The Blue Jays made it to the Sweet 16 with a three set (25-19, 25-12, 25-10) win over

Stevens Institute of Technology (Hoboken, NJ) in the earlier match on Friday.

The winner Saturday’s match will advance to the Elite 8, with the quarterfinals, semifinals and championship, sponsored by Saint Vincent College, in conjunction with SportsPITTSBURGH, set for Wednesday, November 16th through Saturday, November 19th at Duquesne University’s UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse.

Former Clarion Area Bobcat standout, setter Brenna Campbell contributed fourteen assists and six digs for the Eagles on Friday.
