Boys Basketball: Bobcats Down Orioles
The visiting Clarion Area Bobcats downed the Rocky Grove Orioles 58-50, in a non-conference matchup, on Tuesday (December 12th).
Derek Lauer led the Bobcats scoring with 21 points, including three treys. Dawson Smail also hit in double-figures with 18 points, four of them from long range.
Bryce Brinkley scored 9 points including a three-pointer and dished out five assists. Gabe Simko had 6 points and 6 rebounds, while Derek Smail and Logan MacKinlay each finished with two points.
Clarion led 21-19 after one and 30-29 at the half. A 10-7 Bobcat advantage in the third, saw the Clarion lead at 40-36 heading to the final stanza. The Cats closed it out with an 18-14 edge to set the final at 58-50, Clarion.
Quinn Ritchey had 13 points , including one from long range, for Rocky Grove. Blayne Baker scored 12 points and Shiffer Anderson had 11, including two three pointers.
The Bobcat Junior Varsity fell 47-36.
Clarion led 19-9 after one and 24-16 at the half. Rocky Grove had a 20-4 third quarter edge, for a 36-28 lead heading to the final period. An 11-8 Oriole advantage in the fourth, set the final at 47-36, Rocky Grove.
Nathan Frederick led the Bobcats with 17 points, including two three-pointers. Owen Kriebel had 6 points (1 trey) and Mason Burford had 5 points (1 three), Tanner Miller , Quinn O’Neil and Hayden Weber had 4, 3 and one point respectively.
Landan Carter led Rocky Grove with 17 points (2 three-pointers) and Connor Ritchey had 12 (1 trey).
