Boys Basketball: Bobcats Down Wolves In Home Opener
The Clarion Area Bobcats downed the North Clarion Wolves 68-42, in Clarion’s home opener on Wednesday (December 7th).
The Bobcats led 24-12 after one in the KSAC contest. With a 19-16 second quarter Clarion edge, the score was 43-28, Bobcats at the half. Clarion led 53-35 heading to the final stanza after a 14-7 third quarter advantage and closed things out with an 11-7 fourth quarter run.
Clarion had a trio of players hit in double-digits. Devon Lauer led the Cats in scoring with 23 points, including a pair of treys. Gabe Simko followed with 19 points to go along with eight rebounds. Dawson Smail scored 14 points, including a pair from long range, while dishing out 8 assists and hauling down six rebounds.
Bryce Brinkley had 6 points, Derek Smail had 5 and Logan Mackinlay scored on a free-throw.
North Clarion’s Aiden Hartle led all scorers with 28 points, including three three-pointers.
The Bobcats are scheduled to play at Union tomorrow (Friday, December 9th).
