Boys Basketball: Bobcats Down Warriors

The Clarion Bobcats had three players in double-figures as they downed the visiting Moniteau Warriors, 48-14, in KSAC basketball action, on Thursday (January 5th).

Leading the scoring was Gabe Simko, who had a game-high seventeen points. Dawson Smail followed with eleven points (including a trey), while Devon Lauer posted ten.

Clarion led 11-9 after one period, but Moniteau posted a 12-9 second quarter edge, to lead by one 21-20 at halftime. With a 15-11 edge in the third, the Bobcats held a 35-32 lead headed to the final stanza.

A 13-9 Bobcat advantage in the fourth, the 48-41 final was set.

Also scoring for Clarion were: Nathan Frederick with 5 (including a three-pointer), Owen Kriebel with a three-point bucket and Derek Smail, with two points.

Chason Delarosa-Rugg led the Warriors with 13 points (including three treys) and David Martino, with 11 points (including a three-point basket).
