Girls Basketball: Bobcats Fall To Warriors

The Clarion Area Girls basketball team fell to homestanding Moniteau, 54-25, on Friday (January 6th).

The Warriors held an 8-5 lead after one, and had an 11-7 second quarter advantage, to lead 19-12 at the half. With a 15-8 Moniteau edge in the third, their lead was 34-20 heading to the last stanza. Moniteau’s 20-5 fourth quarter advantage set the final.

Sophie Babington led Clarion with 13 points (including three treys). Taylor Alston had six points. Natalie Durish and Lillian Shirey scored 2 points each, while Cecylia Bowser and Marley Kline each contributed one point.

Catherine Kelly led Moniteau with 19 points (including three 3-point baskets) and Davina Pry added thirteen.

Clarion is set to travel to Keystone on Tuesday (January 10th).
