Boys Basketball: Bobcats Down Wolves

Three Clarion players reached double-figures in a 70-48 win over North Clarion, in Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference basketball action on Saturday (January 28th).

Devon Lauer led the way for the Bobcats with 19 points, including two treys. Dawson Smail followed with14 points, while Derek Smail recorded ten points for Clarion.

Bryce Brinkley scored 9 points and Gabe Simko contributed eight. Nathan Frederick and Mason Burford each sank a three-point basket.

Clarion held a 25-10 lead after one. With a 19-16 Wolves edge in the second, the Bobcats took a 41-29 lead into halftime. The Cats outscored the Wolves 19-5 in the third, to lead 60-34 headed to the final stanza, where a 14-10 North Clarion advantage set the final.

North Clarion was led by Aiden Hartle’s game-high 32 points, which included five three-point buckets.

Clarion is scheduled to travel to Clarion-Limestone tomorrow (Tuesday, January 31st).
