North Clarion Boys And Girls Fall To Karns City In KSAC Track And Field Meet

The North Clarion Wolves boys’ and girls’ track and field teams hosted the Karns City Gremlins, in Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference action on Thursday (April 13th), with Karns City winning both meets.

The Gremlins won the boys’ meet 116.5-33.5 and the girls’ meet 109-40

Boys’ Meet

Three Wolves recorded individual wins: Mason Burford in the 110 high hurdles (15.7), Dane Sliker in the 800 (2:19.9) and Noah Naser in the shot put (37-11.5). Burford also finished in a tie for third in the 100, with a Karns City runner.

Getting second place finishes for the Wolves were: Jonas Wilshire in the 1,600, Kaine McFarland in the 3200, Lambert in the high jump and Bish in the javelin. McFarland also finished third in the 1600.

Other Wolves finishing third include: Jackson Nicewonger in the 3200, Isaac Lerch, who finished tied with a Karns City runner in the 100, Aaron in the 400, Thomas in the 300 hurdles and Quinn in the pole vault.

Girls’ Meet

The Wolves 3200 relay team, consisting of Sophie Babington, Gia Babington, Kaitlyn Guth and Anna O’Toole, was victorious, as was the 1600 relay team which included Gia Babington, Sophie Babington, Nicole Fair and Guth.

Gia Babington won the 800 (2:40.3), Fair took the 400 (1:06.5) and O’Toole was victorious in the 1600. Fair also had a third place finish in the 200.

North Clarion had three second place finishers: Taylor Sherbine in the 100, Marley Kline in the 200 and Sophie Babington in the 800. Sherbine also finished third in the javelin and Kline finished third in the 100.

Other Wolves placing third were Addison Siegel in the shot put, Brinkley in the high jump and Shirey in the 100 hurdles.
