Track And Field: Wolves Fall To Bulldogs

The North Clarion Wolves Girls and Boys track and field teams fell to the homestanding Redbank Valley Bulldogs, in a Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference matchup on Wednesday (April 19th). The NC Girls fell 83-66, while the Boys dropped an 82.5-67.5 decision.

Girls: Redbank Valley 83 – North Clarion 66

The Wolves had six individuals with first place finishes.

Lilly Shirey captured the 100 hurdles (20:64), while also getting third in the 300 hurdles. Sophie Babington won the 1,600 (6:27.30) and also took second in the 800. Gia Babington won the 800 (2:40.25). Raven Cunningham was first in the 3,200 (16:15.93). Natalie Durish was victorious in the triple jump (30-8) and was third in the long jump. Brenna Armstrong captured the shot put (33-4).

Sophie Babington, Gia Babington, Cunningham and Kaitlyn Guth teamed up to win the 3,200 relay (11:25.23), while Sophie Babington, Gia Babington, Guth and Nicole Fair comprised the winning 1,600 relay (4:35.22).

Taylor Sherbine finished second in the 100 and third in the javelin. Marly Kline was second in the 200, while finishing third in the 100 and 400. Fair took second in the 400. Abby Felmlee was second in the 100 hurdles and Lauren Brinkley took second in the high jump.

Guth finished third in the 800 and Addison Siegel was third in the shot put.

Boys: Redbank Valley 82.5 – 67.5

The Wolves had five athletes capture individual first places. Kaine McFarland had two firsts, in the 1,600 (5:10.58) and the 3,200 (11:36.72). Mason Burford won the 110 hurdles (16.22), while finishing second in the triple jump and third in the 100. Dane Sliker was victorious in the 800 (2:16.74). Dawson Hotchkiss won the 200(23:44) and Brady Quinn took the pole vault (8-6).

Burford, Hotchkiss, Owen Wilson and Isaac Lerch teamed up to win the 400 relay (45:97).

In addition to Burford, six North Clarion athletes took second place: Lambert in the 110 hurdles, Aiden Thomas in the 300 hurdles, Wilshire in the 800, Shaffer in the high jump, Lerch in the long jump, Jackson Nicewonger in the 3,200 and Shaffer in the 400.

Other third place finishers included: Benjamin Lambert in the high jump, Aiden Thomas in the 110 hurdles, Wilshire in the 1,600, James Keenan in the 400, Lerch in the 200, Turner in the 3,200, Owen Shaffer in the long jump, Brady Guth in the triple jump, Mitchell Bawden in the pole vault and Hayden Hindman in the shot put.
