Track And Field: Wolves Split With Berries

The North Clarion Wolves hosted the Cranberry Berries in a Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference Track and Field Meet on Monday (April 3rd), with the North Clarion Boys coming away with an 89-61 win, while the NC Girls fell 89-60.

Boys: North Clarion 89 – Cranberry 61

Mason Burford and Kane McFarland both were quadruple winners.

Burford won the 100 hurdles, 100 and the triple jump, while teaming with Isaac Lerch, Noah Naser and Dawson Hotchkiss on the winning 400 relay team.

McFarland won the 800, 1600 and 3200, and teamed with Jackson Nicewonger, Jonas Wilshire and Dane Sliker to win the 3200 relay.

Lerch won the long jump, Naser won the shotput, Hotchkiss captured the 200 and Owen Shaffer finished first in the high jump.

Second place finishers for the Wolves were: Hotchkiss (100), Wilshire (1600), Sliker (800), Lerch (200), Nicewonger (3200) and Lambert (High jump).

Third place finishers for North Clarion included: Lambert (110 hurdles), Lerch (100), Nicewonger (1600), Bish (400, shotput, javelin), Wilshire (800), Turner (3200), Guth (triple jump) and Rudesyle (discus).

Girls: Cranberry 89 – North Clarion 60

Nicole Fair was a triple winner for the Wolves, winning the 400 and 200, and teaming with Sophie Babington, Gia Babington and Kaitlyn Guth to capture the 1600 relay.

Addison Seigle was a double winner, taking first in the shotput and discus. Gia Babington was also a double winner, capturing the 800, while teaming with Sophie Babington, Guth and Anna O’Toole to win the 3200 relay.

Taylor Sherbine finished first in the javelin.

Second place finishers for North Clarion were: Sherbine (100), Guth (400), Kline (200) and Natalie Durish (triple jump).

Third place finishers included: Kline (100), Sophie Babington (1600), Rhiannon Copenhaver (200), O’Toole (3200), Durish (long jump) Hannold (triple jump) and Fair (javelin).
