Wolves Track And Field Teams Split With Warriors

The North Clarion Wolves and Moniteau Warriors came away with a split in their Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference track and field meet, at Moniteau on Monday (April 17th).

The Wolves boys team won their matchup, 82-67, while the girls fell 108-42.

Boys Meet: North Clarion 82 – Moniteau 67

Kaine McFarland and Mason Burford each captured a pair of individual first place finishes, for the Wolves. McFarland was victorious in the 1,600 (5:14) and the 3,200 (11:45), as well as placing second in the 800, while Burford won the 110 hurdles (11:16) and the triple jump.

North Clarion had four other individual event winners. Dawson Hotchkiss won the 100 (12.2). Isaac Lerch took the long jump (17-6). Owen Shaffer captured the high jump (5-4) and also finished second in the long jump and third in the 100. Dane Sliker was victorious in the 800 (2:21).

Sliker, McFarland, Jonah Wilshire and Jackson Nicewonger combined to win the 3,200 relay (11:16), while Lerch, Hotchkiss, Burford and Noah Naser joined together to win the 400 relay (46.8).

Thomas was second in both the 110 hurdles and 300 hurdles. Nicewonger finished second in the 800 and 1,600.

Others taking third place were: Lambert (110 hurdles, high jump), Wilshire (800, 1,600), Grayson Aaron (400), Keenan (200), Hindman (shot put) and Rudesyle (discus).

Girls Meet: Moniteau 108 – North Clarion 42

Raven Cunningham and Gia Babington each took home first place finishes for North Clarion. Cunningham won the 1,600 (16:04), as well as finishing second in the 1,600, while Babington won the 800 (2:52).

Gia Babington and Cunningham combined with Sophie Babington and Kaitlyn Guth to win the 3,200 relay (13:44), while Gia and Sophia Babington, Nicole Fair and Kaitlyn Guth joined to win the 1,600 relay (5:22.2)

Other second place finishers, for the Wolves, included: Taylor Sherbine (100), Fair (400), Sophie Babington (800) and Brenna Armstrong (shot put). And third place finishers included: Marley Kline (100), Natalie Durish (triple jump), Addison Siegel (discus) and Boddorf (1,600).
