North Clarion Junior High Track And Field Concludes 2023 Season At Moniteau Invite

The North Clarion Wolves Junior High Track and Field Team concluded their 2023 season at the Moniteau Junior High Invitational on Wednesday, May 17th with some really good performances turned in by the young athletes.

Here is a listing of the first, second and third place finishers for the Wolves.

Boys

Dean Sliker and and Christopher Kim each had first place finishes for North Clarion. Sliker won the 800 (2:36) and and also finished second in the 1600 (5:35.6). Kim was first in the triple jump (35′-11″) and finished third in the 400 (1:06.3).

Anthony Bartley finished second in both the long jump (16′-8″) and triple jump (32′-1″).

Two Wolves had third place finishes, Michael Swanson, in the high jump (4′-8″) and Patrick Durish in the discus (88′-2″).

Sliker and Kim joined Johnathan Lindig and Patrick Durish for third place in the 4×100 relay (55.4), while Sliker teamed with Harrison Shaffer Michael Troese and Martin Ormeno for third in the 4×400 (5:02.3).

Girls

Grace Carroll had another big day in the jumps, for the Wolves, with three first place finishes, the high jump (4′-6″), long jump (15′-6″) and triple jump (34′-1″).

Emma Fitzsimmons was victorious in the 100 hurdles (56.6) and finished second in the 300 hurdles (56.6).

Eliza Datko won the 800 (2:46) and Abby Hastings took the 3200 (14:05).

Ashlyn Clark had a second place finish in the shot put (28′-7.25″) and another in the javelin (68′-3″) Evelyn Carroll finished second in the triple jump (28′-7″).

Grace had a three firsts in the jumps.

Vera Herferle had a third place finish in the 100 (14.3), while Karlee Mahle finished third in the shot (26′-3″).

Datko joined Callie Snodgrass, Maggie Snodgrass and Lyla Gourley to capture first place in the 4×400 relay (4:56.6). Datko, Hastings, Callie Snodgrass and Maggie Snodgrass teamed up to win the 4×800 relay (12:05.7).

Carroll, Adelyn Best, Emma Felsing and Gabby Horwath combined for second place in the 4×00 relay (56.3).

North Clarion Coach Dan Patton said, “It was the perfect meet to end on. A lot of top place finishers and a lot of PRs. Another great season with a great group of Junior High athletes.”
