The Clarion Area Bobcat golfers participated in the Pinecrest Junior Open at Pinecrest Country Club in Brookville on Wednesday, August 9th.
There is no team competition at this 18 hole event and all the golfers compete individually. Bobcat golfers competing included Lucas Mitrosky, Devon Lauer, Kameron Kerle, James Keenen, Avery Kline and Tanner Miller. They all competed in the Boys 9th-12th Grade Division.
There was a very exciting finish involving three of the Bobcats.
Clarion Area Assistant Coach Jackie Kerle shared these thoughts on the Bobcats’ performances, including the very exciting finish, “All of our golfers played individually in the Pinecrest Junior Open in Brookville (Kameron, Devon, Lucas, Tanner, James, and Avery).
“It ended in a 3-way tie between teammates Kameron, Devon and Lucas, all shooting at four over 74 for the day which sparked a two hole playoff.
“The playoff started on hole 10 where Kameron bogeyed and was eliminated, Lucas and Devon both had pars. They went on to play hole 18, where Lucas got up and down for par eliminating Devon. All three boys played some really incredible golf, it was fun to watch!
“Other scores from the day James Keenen had an 80, Avery Kline 86, and Tanner Miller 91.”
Sami Neil shot a was the Girls 9th-12th Medalist.
Nick Chamberlain was the Boys 6th-8th Medalist.
