Bobcat Linksters Finish Third In Happy Valley Invitational

The Clarion Area Bobcat Boys Golf Team had a great showing at the 2023 Happy Valley Invitational at Penn State on Thursday, August 11th, finishing third in a field of eighteen teams in Boys AA, which was played on Penn State’s White Course.

The Bobcat Team, consisting of Kameron Kerle, Devon Lauer, Lucas Mitrosky and James Keenen shot a 24 over 312, to finish behind St. Joseph’s Academy from Boalsburg, which claimed the title with an 18 over 306 and second place Central High School from Martinsburg, which shot a 21 over 309.

Kameron carded a 4 over 76 for tenth place and Devon finished in eleventh place, also with a 4 over 76. Lucas shot a 6 over 78 for nineteenth place. Carding a 10 over 82, James finished thirty-third.

There were 73 golfers entered in the Boys AA Field.

Boys AA individual champion was Griffin Snowberger from Central.

Jacob Crissman from Shaler (Team 1) was the AAA Boys individual champion, with a 6 under 66. Shaler (Team 1) was the AAA Boys team champion, with an 11 under 299.

Katie Caryl from Mercyhurst Prep was the AA Girls individual champion with a 5 under 67. Hickory captured the AA Girls team championship, with an 18 over 234.

Gwen Powell from North Pocono captured the AAA Girls individual championship, with a 1 under 71. Peters Township, with a 23 over 239 won the Girls AAA team championship.

All tolled, there were 259 golfers and 66 teams that participated in the 2023 Happy Valley Invitational.
