Former Clarion-Limestone Standout Morgan McNaughton And Two St. Francis Teammates Earn 2023 NEC Women’s Cross Country All-Conference Nods For St. Francis University, Team Finishes Third

Former Clarion-Limestone Lions Girls’ Cross Country standout Morgan McNaughton, now a member of NCAA Division I St. Francis University Red Flash Women’s team, earned Northeast Conference All-Conference (NEC) honors at the NEC Women’s Cross Country Championship at Long Island University, in Brookville, New York, on Saturday, October 28th. St. Francis is located in Loretto.
The NEC consists of nine schools from five states, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Massachusetts.
Morgan, a sophomore, finished thirteenth with a time of 19:17.3, to earn her first All-Conference honor.
Some of the highlights of Morgan’s season include: placing twenty-fifth on the Father Bede Invitational (21:00.8); finishing twenty-eighth at the Aubrey Shenk Invitational (23:22.5); and running to a 144th place finish at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Region Championships (22:40.6).

The Red Flash Women placed third out of nine teams with 71 points. Stonehill finished first with 61 points.
Two of Morgan’s teammates, Tesslan Helms and Anna Quackenbush also earned All-Conference honors.
Tesslyn Helms
Tesslyn, a junior, from Oakland Catholic paced the Red Flash with a second place finish, in a time of 18:35.6. This was her first NEC All-Conference finish in cross country.
Anna Quackenbush
Anna, a freshman, from Linganori High School (Mount Airy, Maryland) finished seventh with a time of 19:03.2. Quackenbush earned her first All-NEC honor and was named the Northeast Conference Rookie of the Year for her finish.
