Bobcats Fall To Lions In KSAC Basketball Matchup

The homestanding Clarion Area Bobcats fell to their neighboring Clarion-Limestone Lions in a close 60-57 Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference (KSAC) basketball game on Wednesday, December 20th.

The Bobcats held an 18-15 edge at the end of one period. The Lions held a 13-9 scoring edge in the second, to take a one-point 28-27 lead into halftime. With each team scoring 20 points in the third, the score sat at 48-47 heading to the last stanza, where a 12-10 Lions advantage set the final.

Devon Lauer led the Bobcats with a game-high 24 points, which included three treys. Dawson Smail followed with fourteen points, one from long range, and Bryce Brinkley scored eight points, including a pair of threes.

Derek Smail had 5 points, Gabe Simko 4 points and Dauntae Girvan had two for the 5-2 Bobcats.

Jase Ferguson led the 3-2 Lions with 18 points, which included a three pointer. Jack Craig had 11 points, including a trey, Jack Callen followed with 9 points and Paul Craig had eight points, including two from long range.

The Bobcats will be in action in the Punxsutawney Holiday Tournament, next Thursday and Friday, December 28th and 29th.
