Boys Basketball: Bobcats Down Cameron County In Carl Truance Holiday Tourney Opener, Will Advance To Face Punxsutawney In Championship, Tonight (Friday, December 29th)

The Clarion Bobcats downed the Cameron County Raiders 54-53 in their Boys’ Opening Round matchup, in Punxsutawney’s Carl Truance Holiday Basketball Tournament, on Thursday, December 28th. The Bobcats will now face Punxsy in tonight’s (Friday, December 29th) Championship Game. Punxsy advanced by downing Marion Center 53-46.

Punxsutawney and Marion Center will play in the Consolation Game.

Cameron County led 17-10 after one, but the Bobcats bounced back to lead to 28-26 at the half. Clarion trailed by one, 41-40 after three.

The final minutes of the game were furious, with a big sequence in the last minute, giving the Bobcats the win.

Cameron County had a 53-52 lead, when Bryce Brinkley was fouled, with seconds left on the clock. He made the first shot but missed the second. Gabe Simko grabbed the rebound and lauched a turn-around jumper just before the clock ran out to give the Cats the victory.
