Boys Basketball: Bobcats Down Warriors
The Clarion Area Bobcats defeated the homestanding Moniteau Warriors 62-48, in a Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference boys basketball game on Tuesday (January 16th).
The Bobcats led at the end of every period. They held a 15-10 lead after one and went into halftime with a 33-21 lead. The score was Clarion 48 – Moniteau 34 after three.
Devon Lauer led Clarion with a game-high 18 points, which included four 3-point baskets. Gabe Simko also scored in double-figures with ten points. Dawson Smail had a bucket from downtown, as he scored nine points.
Bryce Brinkley put up two treys for six points. Mason Burford and Owen Kriebel each scored 4 points, with Kriebel converting on one from long range. Dauntae Girvan, Tanner Miller and Nate Frederick contributed 3 points apiece, and Dawson Smail registered two points.
David Dessicino led the Warriors with 13 points, which included a trey. Chason Rugg followed with twelve points.
The Bobcats are scheduled to take part in the “Hoops for Hope” Cancer Awareness event on Saturday (January 20th) at Keystone. Their game is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. The Ceremony is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. with the Girls Varsity game to follow.
