Boys Basketball: Devon Lauer Leads Bobcats To Victory Over Gremlins
The Clarion Area Bobcats defeated the visiting Karns City Gremlins 47-43, in a Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference boys basketball matchup on Friday, January 12th.
Leading the way for the Cats, was Devon Lauer who scored a game-high 19 points, with two of his shots coming from downtown.
The Gremlins led by one 11-10 after the first period, but a 19-7 Bobcat advantage, in the second quarter sent the teams to halftime with Clarion leading 29-18. The Gremlins closed the gap in the third. They had a 13-5 edge, which sent the game to the final stanza, with Clarion leading 34-31.
With a one-point 13-12 Bobcats’ advantage in the fourth, the final was set.
Clarion’s Dawson Smail also scored in double-figures with ten including a three-point basket.
Gabe Simko had 6 points, with Bryce Brinkley scoring five points. Owen Krieble scored on a three-pointer and Kam Merrell and Dauntae Girvan contributed two points each.
Hobie Bartoe led Karns City with 11 points, which included three treys, while Jacob Callihan followed with nine points.
The Bobcats are scheduled to host A-C Valley on Tuesday (January 16th).
