Girls Basketball: Bobcats Down Tide

The homestanding Clarion Area Bobcats downed the Curwensville Golden Tide 61-8, Senior Night, on Tuesday, January 23rd. (A special Senior Night article will be posted soon.)

Clarion led by 14-2 after one, 37-2 at the half and 51-6 at the end of three quarters.

Marley Kline led the Bobcat scoring with a game-high sixteen points. Taylor Alston followed with twelve points. Lacey Lauer hit three treys for nine points. Gia Babington and Natalie Durish contributed 7 and five points respectively.

Lilly Shirey and Sophie Babington each recorded two points.

Natalie Wischuck scored five points for the Tide.

Clarion Coach Sam Heeter had this to say about his team’s performance, “I thought girls gave good ball pressure and we were able to take advantage of that. It was good for us to see the ball go through the hoop some more and continue to build confidence as we move towards post season in the coming weeks.”

The Bobcats are scheduled to host Clarion-Limestone on Thursday (January 25th.)
