Wrestling: Wildcats Down Bulldogs On Senior Night

The Central Clarion Wildcats downed the visiting Redbank Valley Bulldogs 37-27 on Senior Night at the Clarion Area Gymnasium, on Tuesday, January 30th.
There was no match at 107 and the Redbank wrestler won a decision at 114 to give the Bulldogs a 3-0 lead. The Bulldogs had a technical fall at 121 stretching their advantage to 9-0.
Wildcat Grayson Aaron recorded a fall with 1:09 left in the third at 127, closing the gap to 9-6. With a pin with 46:4 on the first period clock at 133, Logan Powell gave Central their first lead at 12-6.
Brendon Wright followed with a pin, with 24.5 seconds left in the 139 bout, expanding the Wildcats’ lead to 18-6.
A Redbank pinfall at 145 closed the score to 18-15, Central Clarion and with another RBV pin at 152, the Bulldogs regained the lead, 21-18.
Jacob Henry registered a pin at 160, with 1:13 to go in the first, and CC led 24-21. Ethan Rex scored a 2-1 decision at 172 – Central 27 – Redbank 21.
Redbank tied the score 27-all with a fall at 189.
A 10-0 win by Matt Alston at 215 had the Wildcats up 30-27 and a forfeit win by Josh Beal at 285 set the 37-27 final.
