Bobcats Fall To DCC In District Nine Girls Basketball Class-A 3rd Place Game To DCC; Will Play Berlin Brothersvalley In PIAA Opener

The Clarion Area Girls basketball team dropped the District Nine Girls Basketball Class-A 3rd Place game, 39-28 to the DuBois Central Catholic Cardinals, at Brookville High School on Friday, March 17th.

DCC led 10-7 after one period, 23-15 at the half and 29-20 after three.

Taylor Alston led Clarion with eleven points. Marley Kline followed with 7 points, while Gia Babington scored six points. Natalie Durish had 2 points, and Lacey Lauer and Alivia Diehl each scored one point.

Kayley Risser led the Cardinals with a game-high thirteen points.

Central Clarion will move on to the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) State Championship First Round, on Saturday (March 9th), as they take on District 5 champion Berlin Brothersvalley at the University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown. Tipoff is set for 4:00 P.M.
