Brenna Armstrong Claims Two Titles, Several Others Medal For Wolves At 26th DeMans Team Sports Track And Field Invitational

The North Clarion Wolves were among twelve teams to compete in the 26th DeMans Team Sports Track and Field Invitational, which took place on Saturday, April 27th.

In addition to North Clarion, Brookville, Bellefonte, Cameron County, Coudersport, Cranberry, DuBois Central Catholic, Erie High, Oswayo Valley, Otto-Eldred, Redbank Valley and Union/A-C Valley competed. The top six in each event medaled.

Though the North Clarion had a small contingent at the competing, they had a very successful meet.

Brenna Armstrong had a big day for the Wolves capturing both the Girls’ shot put and discus. Brenna’s winning distance in the shot put was 32′-01″ and her top throw in the discus was 109′-.07.”

Mason Burford took home three medals. He finished second in the Boys’ 100 hurdles, with a time of 16.48, second in the 400, with a clocking of 2:11.29 and third in the 100 at 11:93.

Eliza Datko took home the second place medal in the Girls’ 3200, qualifying for District 9 Class AA Meet with a time of 13:18.79.

Mason Gourley garnered two medals in the Boys’ meet. He was timed in 53.44 for third place in the 400 and was sixth in the 800, turning in a 2:11.29.

Isaac Lerch just missed two medals, finishing eighth in both the 100 and long jump. Ky Clark also just missed a medal, with an eighth place finish in the 3200. He also competed in the 800.

Other competitors for the Wolves were Anthony Bartley in the long jump and triple jump and Michael Swanson, in the high jump.
