Wolves Sweep Berries In KSAC Track And Field

The North Clarion Track and Field team swept homestanding Cranberry, in a Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference (KSAC) meet on Thursday (April 11th).

The Wolves won the boys’ meet 99-42, while the girls downed the Berries 80-60.

Boys’ Meet

The Wolves swept the three relays. Brady Guth, Ben Lambert, Brady Quinn and Isaac Lerch teamed to win the 400 relay (48-62). Mason Gourley, Dane Sliker, Martin Ormeno and Dean Sliker joined forces to win the 1600 relay (4:02.34). Gourley, Dane Sliker, Jonas Wilshire and Wyatt Boyden were victorious in the 3200 relay (9:24.05).

Mason Burford won two individual events, the 100 (11:59) and 110 hurdles (16.15).

Nine Wolves won each won one individual event.

Gourley finished first in the 400 (56:4). Dane Sliker took the 800 (2:19.31). Guth won the triple jump (35′-1) and also finished second in the 800. Lerch and Bish tied for first in the 200 (25.37). Lerch finished second in the 100 and long jump, while Bish took third in the javelin.

Wilshire captured the the 1600 (5:01.3). Jackson Nicewonger finished first in the 3200 (11:35.68) and was second in the 1600. Hayden Hindman won the shot put with a heave of 38′-11″) and Jackson Rudesyle claimed the discus (91′-3″).

Josh Turner took second in the 3200 and third in the 1600. Kylan Clark finished second in the javelin and third in the 800. Michael Swanson was second in the high jump, Noah Naser finished second in the shot put, Ben Lambert was third in the 100 hurdles and Caleb Turner finished third in the 400.

Girls’ Meet

The Wolves captured two relays. Marley Kline, Natalie Durish, Kaitlyn Guth and Grace Carroll combined to win the 400 relay (56.36), while Kaitlyn Guth, Sophie Babington, Abby Hastings and Eliza Datko joined together to win the 3200 relay (11:09).

Six Wolves won individual events.

Brenna Armstrong won both the shot put (32′-4″) and discus (100′-7″). Durish captured the triple jump (25′-1.5″) and also finished second in the 100 and third in the long jump. Gia Babington was victorious in the 800 (2:34.68). Guth won the 300 hurdles (55.81) and was second in the 100 hurdles.

Carroll finished first in the long jump (12′-9″) and second in the high jump, while Kline won the 100 (13.93).

Datko finished second in the 800 and 3200 and third in the 1600.

A number of others placed in events throughout the meet.

Addison Siegel was second in both the shot put and discus. Abby Hastings finished second in the the 1600, Sophie Babbington in the 400 and Adeline Best in the 300 hurdles. Jayden Sheftic took third in the 400, Raven Cunningham in the 3200 and Lauren Brinkley in the high jump.
