Baseball: Bobcats Fall To Trojans In Eight Innings

The Clarion Area Bobcats fell to the Greenville Trojans 7-6, in eight innings at Clarion County Park on Thursday (May 16th).

The Bobcats held the Trojans off the scoreboard through six innings, while scoring one in the first inning, one in the third and two in the sixth. But the Trojans came back to score four runs in the seventh while holding the Bobcats off the scoreboard in the bottom of the inning, sending the game to the extra inning, where Greenville scored three and Clarion scored two.

Dawson Smail had two hits for the Bobcats, scored a run and had an RBI. Noah Harrison singled and doubled, and scored a run. Devon Lauer had two singles, drove in a run and scored a run. Derek Smail had 2 hits and an RBI.

Hayden Weber and Dylan Smail each had 1 hit and an RBI. Wyatt Watterson and Ethan Rex each scored a run.

The Bobcats close out the regular season at 16-2-1 and will begin District Nine Class-A Playoffs next Thursday (May 23rd).
