Clarion County Special Olympics To Host Inaugural Rumble On The Rio – Clarion County Special

Clarion County Special Olympics will be hosting their inaugural Rumble On The Rio Powerlifting Fundraiser, on Sunday, July 28th at Forell Barbell.

Forell Barbell is located on Route 322, in Shippenville (Marianne), across the lane from O’Neil’s Quality Foods and adjacent to Rail 66 Country Trail.

Boost Your BBQ will be on hand, with their Award Winning BBQ to purchase. Snacks and drinks will be served up by your local Clarion County Athletes!

This inclusive event is limited to 50 athletes with at least 15 Special Olympic Athletes from Pa included in that number who will participate in this inclusive event.

All proceeds from Rumble On The Rio will benefit the local Clarion County Special Olympics.

Tanya Brooks, Clarion Coach & Fundraising Coordinator would like to thank Kelly Forell owner of Forell-Barbell for opening her gym doors for Clarion Special Olympics to offer this event. We hope to make the meet a success for our local SOPA athletes, so they can continue to have the opportunity to compete amongst their peers at the local and state levels.

Spectators are welcome to watch and/or stop by to eat and donate!

The event will include two competitions: a full Powerlift (squat, bench, deadlift) and Iron-Man (bench, deadlift). The entry fee must received on July 28th, the day of the event : Full Power $50 and Iron-Man $35,(cash or check only, with no late payment exceptions). Checks are to be made payable to Clarion County Special Olympics.

Deadline to register for guaranteed t-shirt size is Sunday, July 4th and deadline to register is Sunday, July 28th.

A singlet or tight fitting clothing (Under Armor) are required to compete.

This meet is not sanctioned, but will follow USA Powerlifting rules and regulations. https://www.usapowerlifting.com/lifters-corner/raw-lifting/

All participants must sign a liability waiver and all participants under 18 years old must have a parent present to sign a permission form and the liability waiver (no exceptions).

Rumble on the Rio is scheduled to run from 9am to 5pm, dependent on the number of participants. Weigh-ins are scheduled for Saturday, July 27th from 3pm-5pm, at Forell Barbell and again on the day of the event beginning at 8:15am. Sign in begins at 7:45am.

There will be 2 overall grand prize winners + divisional winners.

The TOP 3 in each weight class will receive a medal. There will be a separate prize for top lifter male/female by DOTS to include gift cards, shirts, supplements sponsored by 12SeriesBrand.com

FEMALE WEIGHT CLASSES: 105-124; 125-144; 145-164; 165-184; 185+
