Bobcats Claim KSAC Boys Golf Boys Championship, Kam Kerle Wins Individual First Place, Head To Districts

The Clarion Area Bobcats won the 2024 Keystone Shortway Boys Golf Championship, on Tuesday (September 24th), at Clarion Oaks Golf Course.
The District Nine Boys Golf Championships will also be held at Clarion Oaks, starting on Monday, September 20th. The individual and team tournament will be played Monday. The second round for the players that make the cut will be on Saturday, October 5th.
The Top four teams from the regular season competed for the crown.
The Bobcats finished with a 436, ten strokes ahead of the second place Keystone Panthers who compiled a 446 total. The Cranberry Berries were third at 473, with A-C Valley/Union finishing fourth with a 480 total. Kam, James, Lucas and Gabe are set to compete at districts.
The golfers from those teams, as well as the top twelve in the standings from teams not making the Top Four comprised Tuesday’s field.
The Bobcats’ Kam Kerle won the individual championship. He and Keystone’s Sean Karg were tied at 74 at the end of regulation. Kerle won the title in a two hole playoff.
Clarion’s individual totals: Kerle (74), first place; Lucas Mitrosky (84) in a tie for sixth place; Parker Miller (90) in a five way tie for ninth; Gabe Anderson and James Keenen (94) in a six-way tie for seventeenth place; and Michael Troese (107).
Anderson, Kerle, Keenen, Miller, Mitrosky and Anderson are set to compete at districts. Wyatt Watterson earned a trip to districts also, but will miss the tournament due to injury.
The Top 10 individuals included: 1) Kam Kerle (74) – Clarion; 2) Sean Karg (74) – Keystone; 3) Chloe Fritch (76) – Karns City; 4) Talon Wilson (81) – Keystone; 5) Joe Rapp (82) – A-C Valley/Union; 6) (tie) Lucas Mitrosky (84) – Clarion, Dalton Wenner (84) – Cranberry; 8) Joey O’Donnell (85) – Karns City; 9) (five way tie) Parker Miller (90) – Clarion, Koen Strauser (90) – A-C Valley/Union, Conner Zerbe (90) – Cranberry, Jacob Glass (90) – Forest Area, Connor Ealy (90) – Cranberry.
