Kameron Kerle Gives Dad/Coach Jay Kerle Birthday Present, Earning Medalist Honors, To Lead Undefeated Bobcats In KSAC Boys Golf Mega Match

Wednesday, September 4th was Clarion Boys Golf head coach Jay Kerle’s birthday. And his son Kam gave him a pretty nice present, by taking medalist honors in the Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference Boys Mega Match at Hunter’s Station Golf Course in Tionesta, with a 2 under par, 33, to lead the undefeated Bobcats to their sixth win. The Cats finished with a 188 total.

All the Bobcats posted some fine scores for the match.

James Keenen finished fourth with a 37. Lucas Mitrosky shot a 39, placing him in a five-way tie for sixth. Parker Miller and Gabe Anderson tied for eleventh with both recording 40s. Wyatt Watterson carded a 32 to finish in a three-way tie for eighteenth.

Clarion finished twenty-four strokes ahead of Moniteau and A-C Valley/Union who tied for second at 212.

The order of the rest of the teams: 4) Cranberry (219); 5) Keystone (227); 6) North Clarion (229); 7) Forest Area (233); 8) Karns City (345); 9) Clarion-Limestone (310).

The Individual Top Ten: 1) Kam Kerle – Clarion (32); 2) Joe Rapp – A-C Valley/Union (35); 3) Joey O’Donnell – Karns City (36); 4) James Keenen – Clarion (37); 5) Koen Strauser – A-C Valley/Union (38); 6) five-way tie, Lucas Mitrosky – Clarion, Dalton Wenner – Cranberry, Dane Wenner – Cranberry, Isaac Book – Moniteau, Kelton Stitt – North Clarion.

Clarion assistant coach, Jackie Kerle shared this about the Bobcat’s performance, “Tonights match was the consistency that we’ve been looking for, all 6 of our players posted good numbers. Hopefully we can continue to carry that consistency into districts and beyond.”
