The Central Clarion Wildcats Cross Country Team had a successful outing at the 2024 Big Red Invitational at West Middlesex High School on Saturday, September 7th.
Head coach Nicole Oakes shared this summary:
As a team, the Junior High girls finished 5th out of 17 teams. We are pretty proud of that fifth place finish when you consider the total number of athletes that competed today and the large districts that they represent.
Our Junior High boys raced next but we didn’t have enough boys today to qualify as a team.
None of the 4 boys that competed for Junior High medaled yesterday. Typical front runners, Jackson Baker and Griffin Edmonds were not there. Running for the Wildcats Junior high boys were Noah Fredrick 62nd , Alex McGinley 63rd, Mason (squirrel) Strattan 90th , and Cael Jackson 146th. A total of 196 runners competed in the Junior High boys race, the largest race of the day.
The Varsity girls came next, there were 153 athletes in that race, and we had three athletes in the top 20.
Eliza Datko finished 5th with a time of 20:36. Adisen Jackson finished 6th with a time of 20:52. Reise Jackson finished 20th with a time of 22:01.
Narrowly missing the individual awards, Olivia Radaker finished 56th with a time of 23:44 and Dana Coulson and Livia McGinley finished strong together stride in stride finishing 64th and 65th with a time of 24:02.
Out of 19 total teams, our Varsity girls finished 3rd, relentlessly chasing down our KSAC teammates, the amazing team from Cranberry that finished 1st, we are so proud of how our girls performed today.
Between sputtering showers, the Wildcat Varsity boys finished up our morning by finishing 5th out of 26 teams and were the top finishing KSAC team. It was the great runs by our boys that made that a reality. There were 195 runners in the Varsity boys race.
Jonas Wilshire finished 10th with a time of 17:24. Hayden Weber finished 11th with a time of 17:25. Logan Powell finished 18th with a new Personal Record of 17:46. Josh Turner Finished 32nd with a time of 18:17. Paul Craig finished 113th with a time of 20:26. Riley Rinker 117th with a time of 20:34. Caleb Turner 120th with a time of 20:42. Ryan Rinker 154 with a time of 22:06. Logan Lutz 162 with a time of 22:38.
