D9 Football League All-Stars Announced: Central Clarion Claims All But One Top Honor In Region 1, Eleven Wildcat Players Selected
The District Nine Football League announced their 2024 All-Star Teams on Friday, November 8th and the Central Clarion Wildcats had a great showing on the Region 1 Team.
The Wildcats captured all but one of the Major Awards.
Jase Ferguson was named Offensive MVP; Jimmy Kerr was selected as the Offensive Lineman of the Year; Hayden Hindman garnered the Co-Defensive Lineman of the Year nod; and Head Coach Davey Eggleton was named Coach of the Year.
The only award the Wildcats didn’t get was the Defensive MVP, which went to Punxsutawney’s Beau Thomas.
In all, eleven players from the Region 1 Champion Wildcats were named to fourteen All-Star positions.
Ferguson was selected at Quarterback and Safety. Kerr was selected as an Offensive Lineman. Hindman was named on both sides of the line, at Offensive Lineman and Defensive Lineman/End. Mason Burford was given a nod at both Wide Receiver/Slot Back and Cornerback.
Braylon Beckwith was named to two positions, Tight End and Linebacker. Ethan Rex earned a Wide Receiver/Slot Back spot. Matt Alston and Brant Parker were both named at Defensive Lineman/Defensive End.
Jesse Siwiecki was chosen at Cornerback. Charlie Hepfl made the squad at Linebacker and Thomas Uckert was selected as the Place Kicker.
Coach Eggleton said this about his Wildcat selectees, “I am very proud of all of our players who were recognized as all-stars. We were very well represented on this year’s team, rightfully so with the success these young men have had this year.
“Every year there are a couple players that you feel could’ve made it but didn’t or were slighted in one way or another, and this year is no exception. In the end our goal goes beyond the individual accolades, but it is definitely exciting to see our guys get recognized.”
