Erica Selfridge Named To All-PSAC West Women’s Volleyball Team For Third Straight Season

The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) announced their All-PSAC West Team on Thursday, November, 21st, with former Clarion Area Bobcats and Bainbridge-Guilford (New York) Bobcats All-Stater and current Slippery Rock University was named to the squad’s Second Team for the third consecutive year. She was a member of State Championship Teams at both Clarion Area and Bainbridge-Guilford.

Erica was an outside hitter for the Rock.

The Slippery Rock Athletic Department’s had nothing but glowing remarks describing Erica’s outstanding season and career:

In earning the honor, Selfridge etches her name among elite company in program history as she is just the seventh athlete to earn all-conference honors in at least three consecutive years alongside Jen Blasko (2006-08), Laurie Flynn (1991-94), Sally Scott (1997-00), Danielle Snyder (1995-98), Nikki St. Antoine (1993-96) and Anastasia Urbanik (2005-08).

The latest award is the culmination of a stellar year for Selfridge. One of three Rock athletes to start all 26 matches and play every set, Selfridge recorded 312 kills (3.22 per set) on a .197 attack percentage to go with 36 aces, 318 digs (3.28) and 32 total blocks. She led SRU in both kills and kills per set in addition to ranking second in digs, third in attack percentage and fifth in blocks.

Selfridge compiled 15 kill/dig double-doubles in addition to producing 18 double-digit kill outings on the year. She ended the season ranked fifth in the PSAC in total kills and sixth in kills per set.

One of the top outside hitters to have ever played at The Rock, Selfridge leaves SRU ranked ninth in program history in career kills (1,166), 12th in digs (1,413) and 15th in aces (121). The definition of reliable, not only did Selfridge never miss a match in her career with 115 consecutive appearances she played in 414 of a possible 420 sets.

Selfridge led SRU to 45 victories over her career – the highest four-year win total at Slippery Rock since the 2014-17 cohort totaled 51 victories.
