The Northeast Conference (NEC), an NCAA Division I collegiate athletic association announced their Women’s Volleyball All-Conference Team on Thursday, November 21st, with former Clarion Area All-Stater, Korrin Burns being named to the First Team for the second straight year, for the St. Francis Red Flash.

Korrin, who was named as an Outside Hitter, was joined on the First Team by Kori McClure, also at Outside Hitter.

With the two making First Team, St. Francis has two first team honorees in back-to-back seasons, something they have accomplished four times in the program’s history. Outside Hitter, Skye Eicher (now graduated) joined Korrin as a First Teamer on the 2023 NEC All-Conference Team.

Also making the All-Conference Squad for St. Francis, was Alexandra Sappia, who was named to the Second Team as a Setter.

Korrin, who  was selected as the NEC/Molten Player of the Week twice and named a Prime Performer nine times this season, finished the regular season first in the conference in kills with 329, kills per set at 4.11 kills per set and points per set with 4.80 points per set. She sits second in the NEC in points with 384 points recorded this season. She also accumulated 37 aces, 155 digs and 28 blocks this season.

An excerpt from the NEC news release states, “Establishing herself as one of the league’s most feared outside hitters last season, Burns, a two-time NEC/Molten Player of the Week, retained that reputation once again in 2024. The scoring machine was the only player in the circuit to put up more than 4.00 points and 4.00 kills per set after leading the way in both categories with 4.80 and 4.11 per set, respectively.”

Kori and Alexandra were Prime Time Performers four times and and three times this season.

Some of Kori’s stats this season include: 206 kills, a team-leading .311 attack percentage, 17 service aces, 120 digs and 36 blocks. In single games: highest hitting percentage in single games (.857 against Le Moyne).

Some of Alexandra’s stats include: team leading 778 assists (second in the conference), 8.19 assists per set (second-most among setters in the conference), NEC Leading .55 aces per set (tied for second in aces with 52), 159 digs and 21 blocks.

Congratulations to Korrin, Kori, Alexandra and all of the 2024 NEC All-Conference Selectees!!
