Central Clarion Coach Braun Gourley said this about the tournament, “The Ultimate Warrior is one of the most competitive late season tournaments in PA. 46 teams entered this year.

“The Wildcats had two seeded wrestlers. Logan Powell was seeded 6th at 139 LBS and Mason Gourley was seeded 2nd at 172 LBS. Each wrestler placed a position higher than their seed. Logan wrestled very well in a tough bracket to finish 5th. Mason had a great tournament. He secured the title with an overtime win in the finals.

“Overall the team finished in the 21st spot just missing our goal of the top 20 by one team point.

“On Saturday there was a JV tournament. Sophomore Marlon Lewis had a successful day going 3-2 at 189 LBS.”
