Wildcat Football Team Feted With Watch And Trophy Presentation In Recognition Of Historic Season

The Central Clarion Wildcat Football Team was honored with a special Watch and Trophy Presentation at the Clarion Area High School Auditorium, on Wednesday, March 19th.

The ceremony commemorated the Wildcats’ historic 2024 season.

Central Clarion won the District Nine Football – Region 1 Title with a perfect 8-0 record, won the District Nine Class-AA Championship and the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) Western PA Championship and finished second in the state, falling by just one point in the State Championship game.

The players, coaches, staff and their families attended the event along with sponsors. The sponsors were the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie 3807 Men’s Board and the Eagles Women’s Auxillary, M&B Construction, DuBrook, Redbank Chevrolet, Rossey Bussing, and the Wildcats Booster club.

The watches donated by the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3807 Men’s Board and Women’s Auxiliary, commemorated the Wildcats Western PA Championship. They are sure to be keepsakes that the players will cherish for the rest of their lives.

Several of the speakers for the event included Clarion Area Superintendant Dr. Joe Carrico, Central Clarion Wildcats Football Boosters President, Wendy Ferguson and Wildcats Head Coach Davey Eggleton.

A video was shown of pictures from throughout the season complete with football photos from when some of the players were little.

The coaches passed out the watches and then each player shook the auxiliary member’s hands, they then autographed three footballs (one for each school) and stood for the group photo, shook hands with the coaches and sponsors and then autographed three footballs. One for each school.

They then placed the State Runners-up trophy in the hallway trophy case where others are displayed.

There was a time for light refreshments after the ceremony.
