Brand New Central Clarion Wildcats Track And Field Teams Win Historic First Meet

The Central Clarion Wildcat Track and Field teams began their historic first season by sweeping the homestanding Cranberry Berries. The Wildcat Boys won 105-39, while the Girls were victorious, 90-59, under Boys first year head coach Jess Quinn and Girls first year head coach Chandra Scheftic.
CENTRAL CLARION BOYS
The Wildcats had two double-winners among their field athletes. Haden Hindman (41-11) won the shot put, with Thomas Ferguson finishing third. Hindman (111-2) also captured the discus (111-2), with Ferguson finishing second. Brady Guth (39-0) was the winner in the triple jump, as Jason Megnin took second. Guth (9-0) also led a sweep in the pole vault. Caleb Turner was second and Edmonds third.
Nate Fredereck (18-0) led a sweep in the long jump, with Isaac Lerch finishing second and Wyatt Boyden third. Charley Hepfl was second in the javelin and Jack Monnoyer was third in the high jump.
Mason Burford (10.90) won the 100, Brody Beggs took second, Allex Barrett was third. Jonas Wilshire (4:53) won the 1600 with Chris Kim taking seond. Beggs (56:02) was victorious in the 400. Megnin (46.87) captured the 300 hurdles . Ryan Rinker was second. Mason Gourley (2:10) won the 800, with Kim finishing second. Ben Lambert (24.24) finished first in the 200. Isaac Lerch was second. Turner (11:26) won the 3200, with Brendan Bettwy coming in second.
The Wildcats 3200 relay (8:56) with Boyden, Gourley, Wilshire and Guth was victorious, as was the 1600 relay (3:48) consisting of Burford., Frederick, Beggs and Boyden.
CENTRAL CLARION GIRLS
Eliza Datko, Kaitlyn Guth and Brenna Armstrong and Liv McGinley were all double-winners.

Datko (5:29) won the 1600, with Dana Coulson finishing third. Datko (12:15) also won the 3200. Guth (51:28) took the 300 hurdles while also taking the 100 hurdles in 17.17. Armstrong heaved the shot put 36-11.5 and threw the discus 94-4. Anthony was second in both events. McGinley (28.96) led a Wildcat sweep in the 200, with Addi Jackson and Sophie Babington finishing second and third respectively. McGinley (13.88) also captured the 100.
Jackson (1:06) was victorious in the 400, with Olivia Radaker finishing second. Lauren Brinkley (13-1.5) won the long jump, with Lauer finishing second and Natalie Durish finishing third in another Wildcat sweep. Elana Sheftic finished third in the high jump.
The Wildcat 400 relay (54.90) consisting of Jackson, McGinley, Babington and Guth was victorious, as was the 1600 relay (4:33) with Jackson, McGinley, Babington and Guth.
