Baseball: Bobcats Down Eagles

The Clarion Area Bobcats downed the visiting Grove City Eagles 3-0 on Wednesday (May 14th), at Clarion County Park.

The Cats scored a run in each of the first three innings.

Ethan Rex had a double, scored a run and drove in a run for Clarion. Hayden Weber singled, had an RBI and scored once.

Gabe Anderson doubled and scored a run. Dylan Smail singled and scored a run.

Parker Miller had a double and Carter Hindman had an RBI.

Smail was the starting pitcher and went four innings, giving up just 1 hit, while striking out nine. He issued no walks. Rex pitched three innings in relief, giving up just one hit. He had 4 strikeouts and walked a batter.

Max Knouse had two hits for the Eagles.

The Bobcats now head to the District Nine Class-A playoffs, where they are the defending champions.
