District Nine Releases Baseball And Softball Championship Brackets
District Nine has released their Baseball and Softball Championship Brackets, with the Clarion Area Bobcats and the Central Clarion Wildcats both participating.
Baseball
Two teams advance to PIAA Playoffs: 9-1 vs. 7-3 and 9-2 vs. 7-1.
District 9 has updated their schedule. Due to the inclement weather forecast for later in the week D9 wanted to assure that teams play on turf infields.The updated D9 Class 1A brackets have the second seeded Bobcats now playing number three seed Elk County Catholic in one of the Semifinals on Thursday, May 22nd, at Stern Field in DuBois, with a new start time of 3:00 p.m.
Number four seed Port Allegany will host number five seed seed Coudersport the Pre Round game tomorrow (Tuesday, May 20th) at 4:00 p.m. The winner will face top seed DuBois Central Catholic at Brockway, on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. for that Semifinal.
The winners of the Semifinal contests will advance to the Championship game on Monday, May 26th at Showers Field in DuBois
Softball
Two teams advance to the PIAA playoffs. PIAA matches are as follows: 9-1 vs. 6-2 and 9-2 vs. 5-1 or 8-1.
The number four seeded Wildcats will host number five seed Brookville in their bracket Quarterfinals, at the Clarion-Limestone Sports Complex tomorrow (Tuesday, May 20th).
The winner will face the number one seed Cranberry in the Semis, on Thursday (May 22nd).
The other bracket has number three seed Redbank Valley and number six seed Moniteau facing each other in the Quarterfinals on (Tuesday, May 20th), with the winner facing number two seed Brockway in the Semifinals on Thursday (May 22nd).
The Semifinal winners will play in the Championship Game on Monday (May 26th) at Heindl Field in DuBois. The Consolation Game will be held that same day.
A D9 True-Second game will be played on Tuesday, May 27, if the winner of the Consolation Game did NOT play the loser of the Championship Game in the Semifinals.
Tickets for both Baseball and Softball will be available for all the games on PIAAD9.org.
