The Wildcats Cross Country teams had a dual meet at Moniteau on Wednesday (September 17th) and the PIAA Foundation XC Meet on Saturday (September 20th).
Wildcats Head Coach Nicole Oakes shares this summary:
The Central Clarion Wildcats cross country program had a busy and successful week across all levels of competition.
On Wednesday at Moniteau High School, both Varsity squads earned decisive victories on what proved to be another very hot, dry day. The challenging, hilly course tested every runner, but the Wildcats rose to the occasion.

The Varsity girls defeated the Warriors 19–43, with Hannah Love capturing the individual win. Teammates Livia McGinley, Eliza Datko, and Adisen Jackson packed tightly behind, sweeping 3rd through 5th to lock down the team victory.

The Varsity boys followed with a commanding 16–44 triumph, sweeping the top four spots led by senior Hayden Weber.
The Jr. High teams also turned in spirited races at Moniteau.
The Jr. High boys came up just short, falling to the Warriors 26–29 in a tightly contested matchup.
The Jr. High girls, however, claimed a strong 6–15 win using alternate scoring, displaying the depth and determination that continues to build within the program’s younger runners.
After the races, athletes from all levels enjoyed a well-earned cool down in the field sprinklers, a refreshing finish to the grueling day.

On Saturday, the Varsity teams traveled to Hershey for the prestigious Foundation Invitational, where they faced some of the top competition in the state. The Wildcat girls excelled in the A division, finishing 3rd overall out of 23 full teams. Love placed 9th and Jackson 12th, with both earning top-finisher medals.

The Varsity boys adjusted their typical scoring lineup and still proved competitive, securing 9th place out of 31 teams.
Weber once again led the way, finishing 17th overall to bring home an individual medal.

With strong performances from both Varsity and Jr. High squads, the Wildcats showcased their depth, talent, and resilience, setting the tone for the second half of the season.

(Great Job, Wildcats!!!! Thanks to Coach Nicole Oakes for this summary and to Christie Datko and Tiffany Jackson for their photos!!)
