Boys Basketball: Frederick Leads Bobcats As They Down Gremlins

The Clarion Bobcats hosted the Karns City Gremlins on Friday night (January 30th) and came away with a 64-38 victory.

The Bobcats had a big night from Nathan Frederick, as he led the scoring with a game-high 24 points, with four buckets from beyond the arc. He scored 16 points in the second half, where he sank his treys (two in each period).

Clarion led 12-6 after one and with a 12-11 edge in the second, their halftime lead was 24-17.

They turned it up after the teams returned to the floor. The Cats put up 19 points to the Gremlins’ 8 in the third, to take a 43-25 lead into the final stanza, where a 21-13 Bobcat advantage set the final.

Trey Hooks also scored in double-figures, with 14, with two baskets from long range.

Mason Burford and Dylan Smail had eight points apiece. Quinn O’Neal and Wyatt Watterson each had four points. Watterson had a trey. Parker Miller finished with two points.

Cole Johnston led the Gremlins with 10 points, including a three-pointer.

The Bobcats are scheduled to travel to Redbank Valley on Tuesday (February 3rd).
