Clarion Area Assistant Coach Jackie Kerle Shares 2024 Bobcats Golf Summary
Photos contributed (Above) 2024 KSAC Boys Golf Champion Bobcats: (L-R) James Keenen, Parker Miller, Kameron Kerle, Lucas Mitrosky, Gabe Anderson and Michael Troese
I think there was a lot of pressure on the team this year, especially the seniors, they wanted to remain undefeated. Kameron Kerle, Lucas Mitrosky and James Keenen played all 4 of their high school golf seasons undefeated, over 36 matches without a Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference (KSAC) loss. That is truly remarkable!

We were steady, we were consistent. We have accomplished things as a team that will be hard to match. 6 straight KSAC titles, 4 D9 titles and several trips to the PIAA state tournament. All of the players that have contributed to these successes should be proud of their accomplishments and the success of the program.
I’m unsure of all of the District 9 records over the years, but I’d have to believe that we set several of them with these golfers.
In 2023 we were the first District 9 team to ever qualify for the PIAA state team tournament. We finished 4th in the state.
Kameron won 3 consecutive individual D9 championship titles, was KSAC All-Conference MVP all 4 years and qualified individually for the PIAA state tournament all 4 years. Kameron won over 1/2 of the KSAC Mega Matches that he played in earning medalist honors 23 times.

Lucas earned 2nd team All-Conference recognition freshman-junior years and 1st team All Conference this season. He also made 2 trips to the PIAA state tournament his sophomore and senior year.
James earned first team All-Conference recognition this season. He also won his first KSAC Mega Match this season shooting a -1 under par at Aubrey’s Dubbs Dred Golf Course.

For the state tournament both Kameron and Lucas got off to a strong start and spent a good part of the day at the top of the leaderboard. The second day Kameron played consistent and shot a 75, he just couldn’t get putts to fall. He finished 16th overall. Lucas has been battling a shoulder injury the whole season and lost a few strokes the second day due to pain, he shot an 87 good for 58th place overall.

Thank you to everyone who has supported the program over the years, it wouldn’t be successful without you. We would especially like to thank Karen and Dana Davis for allowing us to use Clarion Oaks to create a successful high school golf program.

(Congratulations Bobcats, on the great legacy over the years, which continues to grow!!!! Thanks to Jackie Kerle for this summary!!)
