The Central Clarion Wildcats’ 2025 Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) Class AA State Champion 4×100 Relay Team was honored with two special Banner Presentations and unveilings, one at each school in the co-op, Clarion-Limestone and Clarion Area. Each school’s banner will be on permanent display, on the wall in their respective gymnasiums
The first was at Clarion-Limestone during C-L’s Winter Sports Kickoff celebration, on Friday, December 12th, which took place at halftime of the Junior Varsity game with East Forest.
In addition to the 4×100 relay, the squads that were introduced during the kickoff were the C-L Boys and Girls Basketball teams, the Cheer team, Wildcat Wrestling team and the Brookville Swimming and Diving team, which swimmers and divers from C-L participate for Brookville.
Tiffany Jackson had the honor of announcing for the Relay team on Wildcat coach Jess Quinn’s behalf. Coach Quinn, also A-C Valley’s Boys Basketball coach couldn’t attend, as his Falcons also had a game that night.

The other presentation took place, at halftime of the JV game with A-C Valley, during Clarion Area’s Senior Night, on Wednesday, February 11th.

Coach Quinn took to the mic and shared wonderful thoughts on the Relay team and then the banner was unveiled. Jase wasn’t able to attend, but between both ceremonies, the whole team and their coach were part recognition

Some of coach Quinn’s words from both ceremonies are below.
The 4x100m relay was simply trying to uphold the tradition set by guys like Kyle Cathcart, Taylor Sessions, Mike Corbett and Dan Patton. In 2001 they ran a 42.59 and won the state championship. These boys, Ben Lambert, Jase Ferguson, Brody Beggs, and Mason Burford, were trying to raise their game to the level set by those boys 24 years ago. They not only met that standard, but surpassed it. On Friday in the prelims we ran a 42.33 and were seeded 6th for the finals. They told me their handoffs were not good, “terrible” is how they described them. They all said, “Coach, we’ll fix it tomorrow. We got this.” How blessed am I as a coach to have athletes who have the maturity to know what they needed to do and then went and did it! 42.48 was incredibly fast and our best time this season. It’s always a good thing when your last attempt to do something is your best effort!
