Boys Basketball: Bobcats Down Lions

The Clarion Bobcats had three players, Dylan Smail, Trey Hooks and Mason Burford, hit for double-figures, as they downed the homestanding Clarion-Limestone Lions 66-44 in their KSAC encounter on Wednesday (January 28th).

The teams were tied 9-all after one period. With a 20-6 Bobcat advantage in the second, Clarion led 29-15 at the half.

The Bobcats used a 23-14 edge in the third to take a 52-29 lead into the fourth, where the Lions had a15-12 advantage, to set the final.

Smail led Clarion’s scoring with sixteen points. Hooks was right behind, with 15 and Burford followed with eleven.

Parker Miller contributed 7 points, Quinn O’Neal scored 6 points, Wyatt Watterson had 5 and Nathan Frederick finished with four points.

Smail had a pair of baskets from beyond the arc, while Hooks, Miller and Watterson each had one trey.

Paul Craig led the Lions with a game-high twenty points. Two of his baskets were from long range.

The Bobcats are scheduled to host Karns City tomorrow night (Friday, January 30th).
