Janney Wins Opening Day Softball Game (04/28/14)
Kaitlyn Constantino threw a complete game, 1-hitter while striking out 13 batters, and walking five, as Janney downed Farmers 13-2, in five innings, on the opening day of the Clarion Little League Softball Season, at Paul A. Weaver Park.
Janney scored twice in the first inning. They tacked on two more in the second, one in the third, five in the fourth and three more in the fifth.
Farmers scored both of their runs in the fourth inning.
Offensively for Janney, Nikki Shumaker had 3 hits, including a homerun. Dorothy Kalinowski had two hits. Chipping in with one hit each were, Constantino, Sierra Brown and Kyara Girvan.
Karleigh Aaron led Farmers with a homerun.
Aaron worked all five innings, in the circle for Farmers. She fanned 13 batters and walked only two.
