Janney Downs C & A Trees In Little League Softball Action (05/09/14)

Kaitlyn Constantino had a big night in the circle, throwing a two-hitter for Janney, on Thursday, as they downed C & A Trees 13-2, in four innings. Constantino threw ten strikeouts, while giving up just two runs on two hits and issuing just two walks, in the complete game victory.

C & A jumped out to a 1-0 lead, in the top of the first. But Janney came back with four runs in the bottom of the inning to take a 4-1 lead. The second inning saw C & A score another run and Janney putting 6 runs across the plate, giving Janney a 10-2 lead after two.

After holding C & A scoreless, in the top of the third, Janney came through with 3 runs in the bottom of the inning. Janney held C & A off the board, in the fourth to gain the 13-2 win.

Offensively, Nikki Shumaker was the big gun for Janney, registering 3 hits, including a triple. Dorothy Kalinowski had two hits and Constantino had one. Ali Girt had a triple for C & A and Hailey Sintobin had a single.

Girt also had a solid pitching performance, striking out 10 batters.
