The trio of Ian Corbett, Destin Strauser and Brendan Miller were all named for their defensive prowess.

Corbett, a 5’11,” 179lb senior, was named to the First Team as a Defensive Lineman. He led the Bobcats, who had nine shutout victories, with 12 sacks, accounting for 60 yards in losses for opposing offenses.

Corbett had 90 tackles and a fumble recovery.  On offense, he had 1247 rushing yards, 150 receiving yards and 22 touchdowns for the Cats. Corbett was a PFN Post-Season All-State, First Team selection at Linebacker, following last season.

Strauser and Miller were named to the “Others To Watch” list. PFN didn’t name a Second  or Third Team on the Pre-Season Team, this year, so the O.T.W., is in essence that same sort of honor.

Strauser, a 5’11,” 217lb senior, was named O.T.W. as a Linebacker. He led last season’s Bobcats with an astounding 162 tackles (10.8 per game), which included 5 sacks.

Strauser, who was a Second Team PFN Pre-Season All State selection, on the Defensive Line, last year, also had 2 fumble recoveries and caused another fumble.

Miller, a 6’2,”171lb, junior, was named O.T.W. at Defensive Back. Last season, he had 68 tackles, including a sack. He recorded 8 interceptions and 115 interception return yards. He also blocked two punts.

Miller was named a Second Team, Defensive Athlete, on the PFN All-State Post-Season Team, for last season.

The three Bobcats are joined on the Team by fellow KSAC player, Cody Deal from Karns City. Deal was named as a First Team Linebacker on the Class-AA Team.

Several other players from District Nine were also named to the Squad.

Clearfield had two players named to the Class-AAA Team. Kicker, Spencer Herrington was named to the First Team as a Kicker, and Jake Wingate was named O.T.W. as a Defensive Back.

Dubois had three players listed as O.T.W., on the AAAA Team, Bryson Paulinelle, at Wide Receiver and Defensive Linemen, Brad Peterson and Joe Peterson.

Brockway and Kane had one Class-A O.T.W. each. For the Rovers, Anthony Benson was named at Wide Receiver and the Wolves’ James Lingenfelter was given a nod at Linebacker.

Congratulations to Ian, Destin and Brendan and the other District Nine players named to this year’s PFN Pre-Season All-State Team!!!!
