Bobcats And Lady Cats Have A Number Of Top 15 Place Finishers In Mars Invitational (04/30/17)

The Clarion Area Track And Field Teams participated in the 2017 Mars Invitational, on Friday, April 28th and came away with a number of Top 15 place finishers.

BOYS

Austin Hummel led the way, finishing eighth in the 800 (206.70). He joined Adam Bettwy, Nathaniel Lerch and Nick Schill for twelfth place in the 4×800 relay (9:08.30).

Bettwy also competed in the 1600 (4:55.38) and 3200 (10:39.30). Lerch also ran the 800 (2:15.13). Schill ran the 1600 (5:08.78)

GIRLS

Lexie Lauer had the top place finish for the girls, finishing in a tie for fifth place in the high jump (4-10.5). She also competed in the triple jump (29.3). Laken Lewis finished sixth in the pole vault (8-3), while also competing in the 100 hurdles (18.29) and long jump (16-0).

Forest Madison Mills was ninth in the 800 (2:29.96) Phylicia Hockman finished thirteenth in the same event (2:33.71). Wendy Beveridge was fifteenth in the long jump (15-5) and just missed a Top 15 in the triple jump (30-5.25) finishing sixteenth. She also competed in the 100 (14.07). Gabby Weaver finished fifteenth in the 300 hurdles (51.47) and also competed in the 100 hurdles (18.07).

The 4×800 relay (11:10.58) consisting of Ailish Nagy, Chelsea Mason, Hockman and Mills finished thirteenth and the 4×400 relay (4:27.51) which included Weaver, Hockman, Hannah Phillips and Mills finished fourteenth. Phillips also competed in the 200 (29.78) and 400 (1:06.75). Mason also ran the 3200 (13.07.61). Nagy ran the 300 hurdles (56.21).

Imani Turner threw the discus (69-9) and javelin (82-5), while Kyara Girvan ran the 100 (14.45) and 200 (30.27).

The Lady Cats will be at Clarion-Limestone, on Wednesday, May 3rd, to face the Lady Lions and the Redbank Valley Lady Bulldogs. The Bobcats will face the same two schools, that same day, at Redbank Valley.
