Four Bobcats Named To 2018 TCS/CE Football All-Star Team (12/24/18)

The Tri-County Sunday and Courier Express newspapers, from DuBois announced their 2018 Football All-Star Team and four Bobcats join this year’s selectees.

Three Cats were selected to the Second Team. Sam Minich was named on the Offense as a wide receiver. On the Second Team Defense, Nick Porciello was named on the line and Archer Mills was named as a defensive back.

Sam had 49 receptions for 775 yards and twelve touchdowns. He also carried the ball 53 times for 503 yards and five touchdowns. Nick, who had his season cut short by injury, had 54 tackles (34 solo), an interception and a fumble caused. Archer had 93 tackles (63 solo), three interceptions, a fumble recovery and two fumbles caused.

Rounding out the Bobcat All-Stars was Camden Boggess who was named Honorable Mention. Camden had 87 tackles (63 solo) and 9 tackles for loss, including three sacks.

This year’s Player of the Year is Clearfield quarterback Isaac Rumery, who is headed to Penn State as a preferred walk-on. Ridgway’s Matt Heindl was named Coach of the Year.

The All-Star Team included representatives from eleven schools: Clarion, Brockway, Brookville, Clearfield, Clarion-Limestone, Curwensville, DuBois, Elk County Catholic, Redbank Valley, Ridgway and St. Marys.
