Clarion Little League 12-U All-Stars 2-0 Thus Far In District 25 Play (06/27/19)

The Clarion Little League 12-U All-Stars opened District 25 play, this week and have recorded two wins and will move on to the winners bracket finals.

The first win was 13-1 over New Bethlehem, at Paul A. Weaver Park. The game was halted in the top of the fourth inning on Monday (June 24th), due to the weather and completed on Tuesday (June 25th). The second game, was held on Wednesday (June 25th) at Franklin, with Clarion winning 10-0 in four innings.

Clarion Manager, Lee Weber shares this summary:

In our first game of district, we beat New Bethlehem 13-1 in 4 innings.  We were up 4-0 after 3 innings and exploded for 9 runs in the 4th to pull away.

Matt Alston pitched 2 2/3 innings and finished with 7 strikeouts!  Jimmy Kerr had 1 strikeout against the only hitter he faced.  Wyatt Watterson came in the 4th and gave up 2 walks, 1 hit and 1 run but finished strong with two strikeouts. 

On the hitting end, Jesse Siwiecki went 3 for 4 with a double and scored two runs.  Matt Alston and Aiden Coulson also had 2 hits and scored two runs.  Wyatt Watterson and Jayden Siwiecki each had two runs batted in.  Brady Pierce added a hit and Hayden Weber reached base 3 times and scored twice.

We won tonight against Franklin 10-0 in 4 innings.  Matt Alston pitched 3 innings and gave up 1 hit, but faced the minimum 9 hitters, since the next hitter hit into a double play.  Matt also had strikeouts.  Jimmy Kerr came on, in the fourth and also went 1-2-3 with strikeouts. 

On the offensive side, Jesse Siwiecki went 3-for-3 with 3 RBIs and scored two runs!  Aiden Coulson (2 RBIs) and Lucas Mitrosky (1 RBI) both added two hits each.  Others adding a hit include: Hayden Weber, Matt Alston, Jayden Siwiecki, Nathan Frederick, and Brady Pierce. 

We will play at Oil City on Sat 6 PM for the winners bracket finals.
